mad about/ after / for / on对•••••着迷，对•••••一片痴心，狂热地迷恋：
He is mad about football. 他狂热地迷恋于足球运动。

mad at对••••••生气（发火）：
Don’t get mad at me. 不要对我发脾气。

be made from, be made of: be made from和be made of都是“用某种原料制造某种东西”的意思，但它们的用法不同，当制成品还能看出原料时，用be made of, 当制成品不再像原料时，则用be made from. 例如：
This table is made of wood. 这张桌子是木头做的。（能认出原料）
This kind of paper is made from wood. 这处纸是用木材造的。（纸已经不是木材的样子了。）
made of 用•••••制成，用•••••制造，由•••••制成（组成）：
The cup is made of glass. 这杯子用玻璃制成。
Cloth is made of cotton, wool, silk, and other materials. 布是棉、毛、丝和其它原料制成的。
made to order定制；定做；正好；正适合：
If you wish your clothes to fit you nicely, you should have them made to order. 你要想衣服很合身，就得定做。
Some people buy their clothes ready – made while others have their made to order. 有些人买现成的衣服穿，有些人的衣服是定做的。
The weather was made to order for an outing. 这天气出去郊游正适宜。
made up of用••••••制造，由••••••制成（组成）：
A car is made up of many different parts. 汽车由许多不同的部件组成。
The medical team is made up of eleven doctors. 这支医疗队由11人组成。

(1) made up of意思是“由各个不同的部分或部件组成或构成一个整体”，它和made of 的意思不同，使用时请注意区别。
(2) made up of后一般接可数名词。
(3) 相关的短语还有：made into把••••••制成，例如：Glass can be made into bottles. 玻璃可以制成瓶子。
major in主修，专攻：
He majors in English and minors in French. 他主修英语，兼修法语。
Paul majored in two subjects. 保尔只修两门课程。

major in, specialize in: 这两条含义基本一致，只是前者是美国英语，后者是英国英语；另外后者亦可用于“专门从事”，专门从事某一专业领域的研究工作。

在实际使用中，经常在difference前面加all, any, great, no, not much, some等词作定语。而且要注意，这条短语有责任中否定形式，既可以说make no difference，也可以说don’t make any difference.

make an example of, set an example for / to由于使用的动词不一样，前者是“处罚•••••以警戒别人”，后者是“树立榜样”，这两个短语的意义迥然不同，而且前者不能在example前加形容词，后者则可用形容词修饰。
