(1) had better是固定用法，主要用来给他人提出忠告或劝告，后接不带to的动词不定式，适用于各种人称和数，也没有的时态的变化，因此不能说had better to do have / has better do.
(2) had better的否定式为bad better not, 不能说had not better.
(3) had better的疑问式是had与主语倒装。例如：
Hadn’s we better wait until the rain stops? 你们等到雨停下来不好吗？
had it to been for … 要不是因为••••••：
Had it not been for rain, I would come. 要不是因为下雨我会来的。
had rather宁愿，宁肯••••••：
He had rather you came tomorrow. 他宁愿你明天来。
