(1) arrive为非延续性动词，不能与表示一段时间的状语连用。例如：他到达北京三天了。
  误：He has arrived in Beijing for three days.
  正：He arrived in Beijing three days ago.
  正：It is / has been three days since he arrived in Beijing.

as if / though好像，仿佛：

(1) as if和as though用法相同，可以互换。
(2) as if [as though]引导的从句一般为方式状语从句。这种从句的谓语动词常用虚拟语气，用过去式表示与现在事实相反的主观设想，用 “had+过去分词”，则表示与过去事实相反的主观设想。按照规范语法的规则。动词be的过去式都要用were, 但在现在英语中，第一、三人称单数主语后面可以用was.
